What are the Fundamental Principles in Hindu Religion
WHAT ARE THE TWO BROAD MOST IMPORTANT CLASSIFICATIONS OF PRINCIPLES
TO BE UNDERSTOOD IN HINDU RELIGION
Understanding these fundamentals is important because without practicing these principles all Vedic Practices, all prayers in Hindu Religion are of no use. They will not give any results.
However, if these fundamental principles are followed in real life then the Vedic Practices and all prayers are immediately fruitful.
These are the forgotten aspects of Sanatan Dharma for centuries because of which there has been a decline in the effectiveness of rituals and practices in Hindu Religion.
These principles also define the Dharma in Sanatan Dharma.
Note that these principles are principles of being human and principles of humanity. These have nothing to do with God or Gods anywhere. These define the basic conduct of a human essential for all communities.

THESE ARE FIVE PRINCIPLES WHICH HAVE BEEN DEFINED AS YAM IN HINDU TEXTS
1
The Foremost Principle has been defined as speaking truth always and following the truth always in all situations and all circumstances. Truthfulness has been considered as the foremost of all characters in a human being in Hindu Religion.
Even the national symbol of India proudly displays "Satyamev Jayate". Meaning that it is the truth that ultimately wins. Development of this one character ensures that the next four principles are followed.
While in today's society in India as well as the world truth has taken a formidable beating, the principle is eternal.
Following this one principle develops extraordinary powers, personality and confidence in a person.
This one principle is essential and indispensable for all round development of a person and a healthy society.
2
The second most important principle of Sanatan Hindu Dharma is Ahimsa.
The real meaning of Ahimsa is - "Not Tormenting or Killing of Innocent Living Beings". Ahimsa in the present times has been misinterpreted as "non-violence" which is an incorrect meaning of Ahimsa.
The first clear derivation of this principle is that if someone for no reason intends to kill you, you have all the right to defend yourself with violence.
The second clear derivation of this principle is that millions of birds and animals which are being killed today goes against this principle of Ahimsa. This is also the reason that in Hinduism killing and eating of any living being is prohibited.
3
The third most important principle in Hinduism is not to steal. Even stealing a smallest of object such as a mustard seed is a sin.
Whatever is stolen by anyone, anytime from anybody, he or she will have to pay back many times over. Even if it requires many life times.
4
The fourth important foundational principle of Sanatan Hindu Dharma is Brahmchrya.
Note that Brahmchrya does not mean celibacy for life. Brahmcharya means not making sexual relations before marriage. And after marriage being faithful to your partner for life.
5
The fifth important foundational principle of Hindu Religion is Aparigrah or not grabbing properties belonging to others.
During the last many centuries these important principles of Sanatan Dharma, Hindu Religion have been discarded. This has resulted in widespread erosion of social values in India. Since these principles are also the foundational Dharma it is for the establishment of these principles or establishment of Dharma that ancient Indian kings fought wars.

The Second Classification Fundamental Principles of Karma 1

HOW EVERYDAY KARMA IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE SHOULD BE PERFORMED
Every individual on this Earth is born with one of the four inbuilt primary intelligences.
1
Being studious, research oriented, with deep thinking, calm in mind, who has flair for teaching.
2
The warrior type, who plays with toy guns and toy arms, who is with fighting spirit, who is a born leader and so on.
3
The business type, who is calculative, who is easy with mathematics, to whom running business comes naturally, who instinctively knows how to run a business even if uneducated and so on.
4
The easy going type. He would do what he is told to do, will be happy with a nine to five job, who will have no problem serving others or doing a job for salary.
The above four have been defined as the four Varnas in Hindu Religion. Respectively these are Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras.
All four are equally important for any society. No one is superior or inferior. All are equally intelligent. In the past several centuries these have been much misunderstood and due to wide ignorance of the Hindu texts and for political purposes have been used to malign Hindu Religion or Sanatan Dharma.
These have been misconstrued as 'caste' by the British and the politicians to divide Indian community.
But these are defined as four types of inbuilt human intelligences by birth and not by parentage.
SO THE PRINCIPLE BASED UPON THE ABOVE IS THAT ONE SHOULD WORK FOR A LIVING ACCORDING TO THIS INHERENT INTELLIGENCE PROVIDED BY NATURE TO EACH AND EVERY INDIVIDUAL. IF A PERSON DOES NOT THEN HE OR SHE WOULD FACE PROBLEMS IN LIFE.
EACH INDIVIDUAL MAY HAVE A MIX OF THE ABOVE FOUR. BUT ONE INTELLIGENCE WILL DEFINITELY BE DOMINATING. ONE SHOULD CHOOSE ONE'S PROFESSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS BUILT IN NATURE.

HOW EVERYDAY KARMA IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE SHOULD BE PERFORMED
Every individual on this Earth is born with an inborn skill.
This has been defined as Vyavsatmik Buddhimata or Professional Intelligence. According to Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, there can be innumerable skills. In the past few centuries there were limited skills such as carpentry, ironsmith, goldsmith, farming, shoe making, potter etc.
But today with the development of technology there are innumerable skills such as an electrical engineer, a doctor, a lab technician, a social worker, a psychologist, a programmer, a pharmacist and so on.
NOW THE PRINCIPLE IS THAT ONE SHOULD CHOOSE A PROFESSION ACCORDING TO HIS OR HER BUILT IN INTELLIGENCE TOWARDS A PARTICULAR SKILL.
KARMA PRINCIPLE GOES FURTHER. ANY PERSON HAS A MIX OF THE ABOVE TWO CATEGORIES. FOR EXAMPLE AN ENGINEER MAY WORK AS A TEACHER, AS A WARRIOR IN ARMED FORCES, AS A BUSINESS MAN AND AS AN EMPLOYEE IN AN ORGANIZATION.
THE ABOVE DEFINES HOW A PERSON SHOULD PERFORM THE PROFESSIONAL
KARMA.
There is much more to be understood with regards to the Karma and how it should be performed. The book
Sanatan Dharma A Complete Scientific Analysis
gives out all of this in detail.
